Flag Day
16th Annual Pause for the Pledge of Allegiance
Once again the citizens of Burbank will be given the opportunity on Flag Day, Thursday June, 14, 2012 to pause along with fellow Americans across the country to pledge allegiance to our nation's flag. The Kiwanis Club of Burbank began this annual observance with a program on the steps of the city building in 1996. This year's ceremony will be held on the Championship Court of the Burbank Tennis Center in McCambridge Park, beginning at 3:00 p.m. with a half hour concert by the Burbank Community Band. At 3:30 cash prizes will be presented to the winning entries of the patriotic art and photo contests conducted in the public and parochial schools of Burbank. Following the presentation of its nationally acclaimed Historic Flag Ceremony by members of the Kiwanis sponsored Boy Scout Troop 204, the audience will join in pledging allegiance to the flag. The program will conclude with the singing of our National Anthem. burbankwire.net/flagdayBURBANK BUDGET ONLINE
